Who is responsible for keeping it clean?
Ultimately, it’s the builders. Of course. The thing is that takes a dedicated team member to get it done. Does your builder have one? When people ask me “What do I look for in a builder?” I will recommend a site visit. Telling them to look for “stuff” crammed in wall cavities.
Sweeping sawdust and wood shavings out of wall cavities is a must! Moisture between walls can happen. Slim. IF your builder is using a spray applied air & water barrier system with penetration flashing tape. However, if moisture is present in the walls with those wood shavings it won’t take much for mold to start!
It is a team effort and a constant battle for a home builder. When you’re building a custom home you’re at an advantage. You’re there to keep an eye on and remind when the job looks messy. Something that may or may not happen during construction of a spec home.
